We don't have an accountant.
We are in Virginia.
We have stock investments and the house is paid off. Also have some investments in fixed deposits since the interest rates aren't too bad these days. Our lifestyle is not lavish and we work hard. We are from tech background (since one of the PPs asked).
Although we save like how one should, what I am unsure about is how the stock markets would be by the time the kids are of age to go to college. Undergrad loan wont be our first choice and we have 2 kids who are kind of back to back. That's why I wanted to understand how people plan education related finances and how they pay fees. Our kids are smart overall (not so smart that they would get scholarship!) but very above average that we would want them to go to good schools. Based on my basic research, I found that we should be ready with $150K per child (including all 4 years) 10 years down the line for an in-state college. Is that info correct?
Great suggestions everyone!
