OK, what changed 3 years ago? How long has she been like this?

After going through a trauma (to use today's phrasing) I was mad at the world. I didn't and don't believe in God, in the sense that he/she is this benevolent being. I still wonder though that IF God exists, then why (fill in the blank)? I was so scared and so p****d off.

It sounds like something has gone on with your sister, honestly. I'll bet she's more sick of it than you are. Maybe tell her that if/when she is ready to really talk, you'll listen. But, for the time being you need to step back.

OP and sis both seem very confused. Sister needs therapy or self study to adjust her worldview so she can find a life that works for her among the horror.. something like stoicsism.

Whose God is she upset at? Encourage her to try a different one. If nothing else, she'll make friends with some missionaries and have a distraction from her real issues.

Trick her into fostering a puppy. If she likes that then she'll get one of her own and it would help shift her focus.

I am borderline hostile to religions but not to most religious people, we all have our things.
