Came here to say this!

Also Thank You for Smoking and a lot of other novels by the same author are very DC politico insider. Often funny and irreverent.

Same author that I just posted about: Christopher Buckley

I really enjoyed "Thank You for Smoking". Think about it almost every time someone mentions lobbyists.

The Exorcist! The novel is really good and lots of good Georgetown descriptions.

Short War by Lily Meyer. It just came out, lots of modern DC references. I really enjoyed it.

+1! Amazing novel that shows DC in a way I haven’t seen in other books.

Easy to read, humerous books:

Ladies of the House by Lauren Edmondson
Rachel to the Rescue by Elinor Lipman

Same!

You just have to get over things like when they say the yellow line has a stop at Franconia. No idea why they get things wrong like that, but I distinctly recall something like that in the Lost Symbol (but otherwise I loved the book!).

Thomas Mallon's _Watergate_ is outstanding and very funny. Spot on for DC in the period.

I read it years ago, but enjoyed it:
No Way To Treat a First Lady by Christopher Buckley, son of William Buckley
