We’d often find her laying horizontally across the short side of the crib so she obviously didn’t mind. Point being, it should at least last a year.

I did a nursey nook by breaking out the closet, I wallpapered, it was very cute and had the snoo. My daughter stayed in it up until 2, when I moved the crib to her room.....only for her stuffies to live in it while she sleeps with me nightly.

so don't worry about it, babies don't know their room isn't decorated they don't even care.

i don't know how it compares but you can also just use a pack and play-- we used one in our room in the in between stage between the bassinet which mine grew out of and the crib in her room- we used the bassinet level for a while (7.5ish months) before moving her to her room- but it's the same size just higher up than a regular pack and play. and then also easier to move to another room if you end up wanting to put baby in the living room (and slumberpod works great with it)

I’m PP. We just switched her out of her mini crib at nearly 3. It helped that she’s not huge and likes to sleep scrunched up against the rails. I know some people think their infants “outgrew” their mini cribs at 6 months or so, but I think those people are nuts.

We moved into a new house when she was 1 and it was fun to decorate her room with her actual likes and personality in mind. Plus now it doesn’t feel like we put a big kid bed in a nursery.

True and if we move after a year we will want furniture to fill the new space. There is an open area under the big window in our room that wouldn't really fit much but a small shelf. I do like the idea of books on the wall to save space and in the living room we will clear the two bottom bookshelf spots for her and cabinets in the the entertainment hutch. I know she wont need much In terms of toys and we plan to get a lot second hand and give away as she outgrows.
