Most professionals get paid enough to make ends meet. My kids qualified for free meals the first few years I was a teacher. Ridiculous.


And now my one in college qualifies for a Pell grant. After all of these years of teaching, I wouldn't think I would fall into the category of "exceptional financial need" but I do.

I agree with this to a point. I do think that classes needed to go back to being separated by levels for reading and math. I also think that SOME students with 504 or IEP's should not be mainstreamed. I think it should be determined by whether a child is available for learning and does not disrupt the learning of others. Only a small portion of kids with 504 and IEP's fit into this category, but they shouldn't be mainstreamed until they can be functioning members of the class. In fact, any child who is unable to participate in class without disruption should not abe allowed to interfere with anyone else's learning.

Tbh, I think if just these two things were figured out, teachers would be fine.

These are really bad ideas. The teacher can marry somebody wealthy and with high income, and that person would be able to benefit way too much. Plus, the council cannot pass laws for these taxes

Moco police have a $20k hiring bonus.


Police can make double their salary in overtime. No overtime for teachers.

While you are at it, you may want to look into the retention of speech pathologists and school psychs. Many empty positions due to high caseloads, high amounts of paperwork and having to cover empty positions.
