Growing up in the 80s/90s, Red Lobster was definitely considered fancy, a special occasion place, in my part of rural-ish VA

Try Luke's Lobster. Or Salt Line. Or Del Mar. Just about any decent restaurant has good seafood offerings.

I don't think I've been to one since the early/mid 90s. It wasn't bad back then. Not great, but just like you would expect from a chain. GUess it's gone downhill.

We went to a Red Lobster last year with my cousin (we were visiting a town where Red Lobster is considered fancy), and the food is pretty rough. I am not a food snob and love me some Olive Garden but husband and I both agreed that Red Lobster is barely edible now.
