We are also meant to eat animals, so by your logic, veganism and vegetarianism are also constructs that Homo sapiens were not meant to be.

How so?

Why so much hate for the carnivore diet? Different diets work for different people.

It is essentially an elimination diet. The people who see the most health benefits from it most likely have some sort of unknown food intolerance and a compromised gut biome which has been shown to cause autoimmune diseases overtime. I suggest first cutting out sugar and eating more fermented foods like sour kraut, kombucha, kimchi, and kefir before resorting to such an extreme diet. Sugar is inflammatory and the fermented foods will help your body properly break down and get nutrition from plants. Whether the carnivore diet is healthy long-term has not been proven and there are concerns of how a high protein diet effects the kidneys long-term. There have also been concerns on how long-term elevated B-12 levels effect us. If you look at areas in the world where people live the longest (blue zones), they eat a more plant forward diet with lots of fermented foods.

Also, to the pp who has had great success with it, I caution completely removing plant based foods from your kid's diet. You are destroying their gut biome. If they ever want to go back to a more plant forward diet, they will have a really hard time transitioning due to their gut biome no longer have the proper bacteria balance to be able to process and break down plants.

Why are you pooping so much? Once a day or every other day is sufficient unless you are eating too much or foods that your body is unable to process.

You can’t say that definitely for everybody. Every GI doctor on the planet will tell you that.

Also, you obviously have never done any kind of endurance sport training.

I have run tons of half marathons and it’s strange to see so many people pooping before the races etc. I have always figured it was due to eating too much pasta the night before or nervous jitters. I eat clean (no processed foods) and mostly protein, fat, and whole seasonal fruits/veg.

Like I said, not everbody's bowel movements are the same.

I also eat "clean" even though I don't like using that phrase. The only processed foods I eat are salad dressing and sugar in my coffee if you want to go down that route. I run a half marathon every Sunday as part of my long run. With the volume I am doing these days where I am eating on the low end 3000 calories to the high end of 5000 calories a day to maintain my weight, the food has to go somewhere.

In May, our family will have been on a carnívore diet for two years. We had been vegan and SAD (standard American diet) prior to carnivore and carnivore has been a game changer.

First thing, I have been able to fully reverse type 2 diabetes without drugs and lost 60 pounds in the last two years. My skin, hormones, and muscle tone have greatly improved as well despite being almost 50. I get regular periods and no more menopausal symptoms. Fatty meat is the basis of hormonal health.

My husband has reversed his Hashimoto’s and is also no longer on any prescription drugs. He has mostly been thin and active since we have been together (30 years) but was getting skinny fat on a plant based diet. He is now muscle-y and looks amazing. Younger, more confident and a wow in bed!

Over the past two years we have given up alcohol as it’s no longer something we crave. We supplement with vitamin d (in the winter as we get plenty of sun otherwise), magnesium, and iodine (for hormonal and adrenal support).

Our two teens still at home love this way of eating and have been making huge strides in athletics while maintaining all A’s in school. They also work part time jobs and have great skin and hair. They know they will feel crappy when they eat standard American crap food with their friends. They have to experience that and learn on their own. Our two kids in college were skeptical but both have come around after seeing our results and are trying to stay cleaner with their diets and be more animal based.

I understand (especially as a former vegan) that this seems strange. Don’t knock it til you try it. We did this initially as a two week experiment and it’s been amazing.

We get most of our meat from a local rancher and get our eggs and raw milk and cream from a local farm. We are lucky that despite living in a major metropolitan area, we have been able to source this. We also shop at Costco for some extra meats, cheeses, sparkling water, and snacks(Chomps).

This is affordable, we are regular and our trashcan is practically empty every week as we generate hardly any trash now.

Absolutely disgusting. Humans aren’t designed to be carnivores.

Just eat a normal amount and variety of foods and you’ll be fine. Cut out all processed crap. If you need medical intervention for a valid physical or mental health reason related to weight, get it and still cut out the processed crap.

This is just insane.

I considered it for vanity purposes. Apparently carnivore women swear it is great for perfect glowing skin and a small waistline .

I just can’t stomach only eating eggs and meat without any fruit or veg or carb. I’m also concerned about the fiber . How do carnivores do it?

5 years now. I was keto prior to that for 6 years.

When I started carnivore from keto, I immediately lost 20 pounds more. (I had already lost 70 from keto.) my migraines went away instantly also. For 25 years, I had 5-10 per month. That reduced to 1 per year. When I go off certified and even move to standard keto, I immediately gain 10-20 pounds, which comes off very slowly when I go back to carnivore.

I eat a high protein diet (>120g a day) with a lot of meat, fish and eggs but this seems disgusting. Hadn’t heard of this.
