MDU’s older girls teams are competitive and certainly no Homers for MDU on DCUM for obvious reasons so few actually know that. Bethesda’s arrogance will make MDU necessary and relevant every so often. It’s no coincidence that 07 girls at MDU are excellent and Bethesda are bottom dwellers. Only room for one good team in MD per age group.

NVA-Loudoun County
FVU-Fairfax County
Arlington-Arlington County
VDA-Prince William County
BSC-Montgomery County
MU-PG County

These counties obviously have different populations, and it’s clear that BSC has less competition with the bridge serving as a natural commuting barrier for players from NOVA, but there is some logic in the one club per county that ECNL has gotten down to with the consolidation of Union and Brave. There’s probably still one too many ECNL clubs in NOVA.


BSC and Arlington serves PG county too. We live in PG county and know many families (boys and girls) who opt for BSC and Arlington over MU ECNL.

But to your point, I wish there was another MLSNext and ECNL option in PG county.

It does. Maryland United plays in Upper Marlboro.

😂. Another way to look at it is that BSC doesn’t care enough to tell their current and/or future paying customers.


They are the same as any other club. You sign up and don't know who your coach will be.

Coaches will be posted the same week of tryouts, or a week or two earlier if you're lucky
