I am OP and that is definitely my vibe! Usually I describe it as middle aged hipster birdwatcher but I think 75 year old periodical reader who bustles around town would also work.

This is exactly what I pictured when I saw the shoes. With knee-high "nylons" that have runs in them from longer-than-they-should-be toenails.
