I’ve had more than my fair share of Giant sheet cakes over the years and IMHO they’re just marginally edible. Same with Safeway, except maybe worse. There have to be better options. If you’re talking about anything more than a kids birthday party, I’d go to Wegmans or someplace comparable.

Safeway has a strawberry filling that's nice. But Costco would be my first choice if you have time to deal with going there. If not, Safeway

Chocolate is better.

Grocery store sheet cakes are the one exception when chocolate isn’t better.

Its a sheet cake. Anywhere is fine. No one expects much from a sheet cake.

Wegmans. Half yellow, half chocolate. Buttercream.

Bakery buttercream has shortening.

Ummm, yeah? That's what Crisco is. Shortening.

The PP said Giant buttercream was bad bc they used Crisco as if it’s some cheap low class option. No it’s commonly used by bakeries that are not in grocery stores. All butter buttercream is temp sensitive and poor quality butter affects taste.

Literally - costco.

Tasty, cheap, easy. Do it.

I hate buttercream frosting. No one does it well.

Costco is the answer. $20 and feeds a small army. But you have to pre order if you want the sheet cake. You can pick up the rounds day of though.
