Is DC in at Ross?

I went to Wash U undergrad and Michigan Grad. I had a bunch of classmates who did the same.
The student body is very similar at both but the size of Michigan is not for everyone (ditto for Wash U). I was not ready to navigate the larger school as a 18 YO and appreciated the support that Wash U provided.
One consideration that may not be on your list is that Michigan is really grey for most of the 2nd semester. They actually call their 2nd semester "Winter" as it starts the week after new year. "Spring Break" is typically in Feb and graduation late April (this year really early May). It might not sound like things to really consider - but for anyone who has the slightest bit of SAD, you are not getting a lot of natural sun Jan through March.
On a + - if your child wants to get a summer job they are home earlier than most other college students and can get a going while other are still thinking about finals.

If he wanted Emory, Wash U will be most like it.

NP. Nope. Actually STL is on average 9 degrees warmer than Ann Arbor in the winter. But the rest of your comment is also ridiculous. WashU is well known. You won’t be having to explain where you went to college. Also, of course private doesn’t always beat public but for some kids a smaller school (like washu, and most private schools) is better than a really large school like Michigan.

St. Louis is a wonderful place to go to college.

Ann Arbor is a much better experience for most 18 year old freshmen.

I assume you also applied to Ross? If not, you still have a chance to get accepted into the school as a sophomore. You also get a business minor through Ross.

WashU is a wonderful place to get an education. Lots of support if needed but no “hand holding.” Posts about safety at WashU are simply not true. The campus in Clayton is very safe. In terms of “left leaning” there really is no top college that isn’t.

Did you visit?

Lots of crime in the off campus student housing at Wash U. Very left -leaning chancellor.
