Op again: Thanks all! We are planning to do chelsea market on Saturday, the day we arrive. Is the flea market indoors as well? Looking into museum of illusions which is pretty close to it. Anyone done that? Dinner will be in that area as well. Still debating between another broadway show at night, or madame tussauds or Rise NY. Serendipity is on the menu too

Go to a food hall like Urban Hawker or the Tin Building.

So many museums to check out - including free ones like Fashion Institute of Technology.

Go to a concert, see who is playing this weekend.

Tea downtown will be hard to get on short notice, but Crosby or Prince Tea House don't tend to book up as quickly.

Hudson Yards has some different activities out of the rain. The Edge is connected to Hudson Yards it’s a tall glass building where you can go to the top and walk on the deck with glass floors. The big structure the Vessel is still up but you can’t go up high any more. Great restaurants.

If it stops raining definitely walk the Highline. I like it better at night but depends on the weather. Whitney Museum is pretty close. SOHO shopping might suck in the rain. Smushy wet sidewalks, too many people.

I'm from New York and when I was that age we went to shows, the met, moma, shopping, etc.

The Museum of the Moving Image in Queens was my go to when it was raining and I was visiting family in NYC if your kid is into movies, TV or video games. Last time I was there I got to play Jennifer Capriati Tennis on an old Sega Genesis. Good times...

Not Museum of Ice Cream for a 17 year old. It’s barely fun and interesting for a 10 year old.

No. Get tickets to a show. Lots of great exhibits at Guggenheim. We always have to make a strop at Serendipity 3 for Sundaes.
