My freshman will be in career fairs insteas of using the time to meet with teachers or make up assignments.

Will you also complain when your freshman doesn't have school because the seniors are having graduation?

Some MCPS need to get jobs when they grow up. They can't all grow up to be SAHM trophies.

What would mcps know about jobs or doing their jobs properly? Move somewhere that will make you an equity hire, break every ethic code and wait for your 1.3 million payout to get rid of you?

She is living rent-free in your head

One million three hundred thousand isn't rent free.

Your son is in 11th grade. Every is talking about what the 9th, 10th, and 12th graders will be doing while your student is taking the SAT. All teachers will be proctoring so there is no class for the other students during the SAT testing time.

My son is hanging out with his girlfriend today and my DD is likely still sleeping. They’re not going in at 12:30 for 3 30 min classes.

Why should the school avoid planning something interesting because your kid can't do their missing assignments in their free time?

The school's job is academics.

Are the career fairs mandatory? Not at my kids school, he’ll be going in at 12:50 when classes start for the day after spending the morning doing homework.

Yes mandatory and there are zero classes at our school on sat day. Speakers and fairs.
I hate it.

SLEEP and STUDY time at home, OP.

You couldn't care less whether your kid gets marked absent. They need to prioritize their health and academics, in that order.

This is what my kids did/do. Oldest is doing well in college now. At some point you have to teach your kids that their own interests and their institution's interest sometimes do not match.

They will learn more at home on SAT Day. It's not entitled to decide how to most productively use one's time - it's wise. If classes were normal for non-SAT Day students, then I would encourage to stay at school. But they're "time-wasters" as another PP accurately described.
