Agree. I find it bizarre that OP wouldn't wave back enthusiastically, unless she had a really bad break up. If I encountered any close friend, romantic or otherwise, from way back, I would be psyched.

If I were in your shoes, I would’ve seen him and given him an equally enthusiastic wave. I’m sure it was a happy surprise for him to see you. Barring it was a regular break up there is nothing to be weirded out about.
