How is it a MLS Next issue that they are providing the top soccer league in the country for people who are serious about soccer?
You're not serious about it.

So choose another product that allows you to play multiple recreational sports. No issues for anyone.

U12 would seem to be the most relevant data point for someone considering MLS Next, since MLS Next starts at U13; so the 2012 team is relevant.

It looks like Alexandria's 2012 "pre-MLS Next" team is strong -- they are certainly competitive with Bethesda and SYC as the other local "pre" MSL Next teams.

So much depends on the specific coaches and the mix of players -- whether they are good kids, whether they have a good relationship with one another, etc. And of course, the quality of the parents plays a role in all of that.

OP here. Thanks for this. I wasn't wondering about a single age group so much. But, I think these points are completely valid for making decisions. I think that if these are the primary concerns, then club is less important than the individual team. Alexandria has some club-specific traits that I was wondering about. The poster above hits on a lot of these points re: training. Thanks for that response. Anyone else choose Arlington, SYC, etc. over Alexandria top teams? Why? Team-specific? Club-related?
