Howard County income taxes haven't been raised since 2014 and the property taxes haven't been raised in even longer. They are not growing up.
Most homes have increased in property value, which means most people have to pay more taxes. You can't really unlock that property value until you downsize, so for most people it's made finances that much tighter. Plus, utility bills have gone up, wages remain stagnant, and plenty of people have lost jobs.
