When younger, I had friends who would juggle 3+ men on OLD. Some they slept with, others they didn’t.

I always wondered how they did it because I was exhausted just trying to date one man at a time.

But doing this seems to be common.

The summer after my divorce there was the woman my exact age (41) who I really liked and was hoping would become something long-term (she was a parent also and with our schedules we saw each other a half dozen-ish times over those three months), the woman a decade younger who was crazy about me and talked about marriage, and the 21-year-old who was insane in bed.

That's how I thought things would go forever.

I doubt he gets more sex seeing several casually if, for example, he was living with a partner having sex every day or every other day. These women might have limited time available, kids etc.

What he's certainly getting is variety. This person is not monogamous, which is why I never see anyone who wants casual. Imagine exposure to STDs with that many partners! These 4 women could be sleeping with several men each, too


Variety and marginal utility matter here. For a casual dater, 4 sexes a week w/ 4 girls is better than 5 sexes a week with 1 girl. The excitement from variety outweighs whatever the man gets from a marginal increase of sex.


And that’s why men will cheat on a wife they are still having sex with. Variety. Plain and simple. It doesn’t even have to be better or prettier- just different.
