Subject: What to see and do in Atlanta
Not sure if the sets are still up or if they’re still doing tours, but we loved visiting Senoia and doing the Walking Dead tour. It’s not far from Atlanta.

If you ever plan to come back with kids, do the Civil Rights museum now. It might be too much for kids. Then go to MLK when they are here.
Also look into the Streetcar. We are staying near Centennial Park and taking the streetcar to MLK (will have DS)

Subject: What to see and do in Atlanta
Treat yourself to a delicious latte or hot chocolate and dessert at Cafe Intermezzo in midtown.
Catch a performance of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
If you enjoy roller coasters, visit Six Flags one evening. Dusk and Night time is my favorite time there, all lit up.
If you’re in the mood for it, the Civil Rights museum is really good. Some areas are very heavy and somber though, so be warned.
Atlanta has countless great neighborhoods and suburbs to explore. Kennesaw Mountain is fun for a short hike, and downtown Kennesaw or nearby Marietta Square are great for a bite to eat afterwards and a cocktail. You may even catch a festival.
Marietta Diner has any kind of delicious food and monster cake you could ever want.

skip aquarium (crowded) and stone mountain (far out, and really not that interesting, unless you want to pay homage to the kkk). ymmv on world of coke. I'd skip centennial park, buckhead, etc.
walking around piedmont park/beltine would be great right now. botanical gardens to. Check out High museum/arts district. MLK birthplace and if you have time the atlanta history center is awesome as well. Good restaurants all over; especially Inman park, also check out Krog street market. East atlanta and decatur are also fun, hipster (and breeder/hipster) neighborhoods.

Running shoes are fine unless you really need ankle support. It's granite the entire route. There are handrails in the steepest portions.
