I’m black and kind of agree with this. It is a pretty common name among black Americans.

I briefly dated a medical student named Tyson once - he was a malignant narcissist and probably also a psychopath, so I have a huge aversion to that name.

All the others sound much nicer to me.

These are the only ones that I like (even if NMS). Tyson makes me think of chicken or Tyson’s corner. Flynn is the made up name of Walter White’s son in Breaking Bad. Those 2 are the worst.

Ethan or Nathan

I see it and just think "Mike Tyson" or chicken.

Tyson is a black name.

Nathan and Samuel are the only ones I like. Spencer is OK.

Tyson: chicken, corner, Mike, so many dogs!

Jude: the Obscure.

Ethan: it sounds nasally and weak to me.

Marlon: Brando.

Flynn: reminds me of Flea. Also, in like Flynn.

Any of the other names is better than Tyson

I like Nathan and Ethan! I know at least one Flynn

I don't like Tyson because of the chicken (nobody your child's age or even some of their parents will know who Mike Tyson is).

I like Ethan, Samuel, Nathan, and Flynn. The rest are strange or have connotations I don't love (e.g. Spencer's gift store, Jude Law, Ferris Bueller, Colby cheese, etc...)

"Tyson's feeding you like family!" If I hear that name, I hear that jingle in my head.
