No she did not till after the question was asked. It clearly says she received her degree from hyp. She did not say she went to one of them. And you are also incorrect again, bc she later said she went to two of them. This is when she said she did not want to be specific. She did not specify this before the question was asked in her first post. Learn to read.

Looked in that site for MD. Vast majority of jobs there is technical.

I worked in commercial real estate (but not as a broker) became a sahm for 16 yrs. during this time a did a lot of volunteer work and served on boards.
2 Years ago I became certified to teach pilates.

I don't need the income of a full time job so now I teach private clients about 10 hours a week. It keeps my brain active and gives me some pocket money.

Sorry meant to say above "landed me in a string of jobs" that made me even more confused about what kind of career I should pursue.

OP here! My grad program was in publlic policy but let me tell you -- I HATED IT. I don't know why I did it in the first place and it landed me in a string of jobs (which by the way I also hated). So I'm trying to steer clear of any government/policy work but other than that I'm game.

Thanks to all who have responded! From becoming an IA, to non-profit work, to interior decorating, to returnity programs (!!)...there are some fantastic suggestions here and I hope these will be useful to others as well.

Also, if anyone has a good career coach contact, please let me know! Or if you've had any experience using one, would be curious to know if you thought it was worth the time and effort to seek one out.

Not OP. I am also trying to reenter the workforce after 5 years as a SAHM, and I’ve never heard of these programs. This is so helpful!!! Please if there are others, I hope people will share. Or the search terms to use to find similar programs.
OP, I am doing a lot of informational interviews with people who have interesting sounding jobs that seem like ones I could transition into with some but not too much, training (for eg, not doctor, lawyer etc). I’m still figuring it out and have pivoted quite a bit, but I find the conversations energizing / motivational for the most part.
I know you don’t believe it but your ivy degree will go far as a signal!

Volunteer at a nonprofit. Take on any aspect of the operation you are interested in, and learn how to run "the operation". Then you can transition to operating a nonprofit or a business and get volunteer or paid work in lots of places.

As for the HYP, of course I only went to one of those for college and one for grad LOL! I didn’t want to say exactly where as some friends from college frequent this site! I know it’s ridiculous to think I might be exposed…but still, want to stay anonymous
