It's been hard, but... she was really motivated to take on the challenge (undergoing ADHD testing at the moment, so I feel your pain!) It's resulted in some major meltdown evenings with homework, and trying to skip homework... but after the first few months, she's really getting it now and is quite proud. I think she's solid but not gifted in math. I didn't encourage her to take it, but... old enough to start to make these decisions for herself.

It is still a class taken for high school credit. I don’t know of any public high school districts that don’t consider algebra I a class you receive high school credit for, regardless when taken. It is also a credit that is mandatory for high school graduation

Yes, my post on Dr Reid was meant to only respond to above poster saying if believe in DEI then would not have kids take Algebra in MS. In most NOVA districts, it is a HS course that goes on transcript if take, but cannot speak to what schools do elsewhere and to mix it up, I am one that wishes kids could take it whenever they are ready and that only classes that take when IN high school would count on HS transcript.

Algebra is a HS level class.
