I actually don't know who you're talking about. Ozempic is widely available, but you may have to pay OOP. If your budget is that tight, saving on groceries is actually a smart way of carving some money in your budget.

Start a side hustle and use that money to buy the drug OOP. That's what I did.

I started my side hustle in June 2023 and saved enough to pay for 3 months OOP. I wanted to have a cushion of saved funds in case I had months where I couldn't earn what was needed.

I didn't realize that there was a coupon for 1 month free, so I ended up having an even bigger cushion with my funds.

I started Ozempic in Sept 2023 and I have lost 46 lbs as of now. Using coupons & buying in a 3-month supply, I pay around $425/month.

Worth it. I was borderline diabetic before (insurance still wouldn't cover it!!) with high cholesterol & blood pressure and the beginnings of joint issues. My A1C is fantastic as is my cholesterol and blood pressure. It may only be 46 lbs but I feel so much lighter and more agile like it's not so cumbersome to move about and exercise.

for those that need it and cannot afford it, look into "research peptides". There are testing groups that help ensure you're getting what you think you are, for a fraction of the cost.

That's not true https://www.fda.gov/drugs/guidance-compliance-regulatory-information/human-drug-compounding


You need to read that more carefully. They monitor facilities but not the meds that are being mixed. No compound has been FDA approved.

As someone who has lost 70 lbs without Ozempic (but gained it all back) and has lost 60 again with Ozempic, I can tell you that Ozempic does help a lot but it's not the magic pill everyone believes it is. The sideffects almost made it quit in the first few months. It was no joke. Also, you WILL be hungry on it too if you want to see results. It's just going to make it slightly easier. I hope your doctor prescribes it. Mine did almost two years ago because I was overweighed, high cholesterol and high BP. It helped with all those things better than just a diet for sure.

This is really common: many docs are not up to date on new meds and/or not weight loss specialists. You can go to a specialist, a weight loss clinic, a service like WW ...

This happened to a friend so she went through the Weight Watchers program. They submitted the RX to insurance, which covered it. She's using Wegovy and their eating plan but really just using them for access to Wegovy. She says it's great.

Wegovy is Ozempic at a higher dosage and is specifically for weight loss.


Right and I can't afford that either. I might be able to in about five years when the price comes down after big pharma makes billions on it in the meantime.


This would be a problem with your insurance coverage if you qualify for Wegovy.
