Vibe… our family generally goes to 1 school but the bro attitude and “we are brothers” message was really off putting.

My h was bummed but he got over it.

I agreed so it was all good with me.

DS graduated from a K-8 school in 2022. Given the application process, the shadow days, etc., what's been really surprising to me is just how many of my son's MS classmates changed high school after just one year. Applying out for 10th grade must have been a process that each family began within just a month or two of beginning 9th grade. Quite why in each case I don't know. The choice you and/or they make may well not be the right one, but it is possible to have a do over.

We had two choices for 9th and our daughter had a strong favorite based on the vibe and neighborhood. I may have marginally preferred the other choice based on the beautiful campus, but we went to both Admitted Student days and she shadowed once or twice at each school. I let her pick. She is very happy with the school she chose.

DC chose after the welcome event. Was a hard decision but DC had the right instinct and has completely thrived.

It was the only private that admitted him. Prior to that, while we were awaiting decisions, I noticed that this school had the most rigorous school profile of any that he applied to, so I was happy to send him there.
