I feel bad that my kid didn't make Pre-Pre-Pre-MLS Next when he was 3.

Is the training good? Is the competition challenging? Can you afford it and commit to the time requirements? Does your child want to do this?

Don't worry about titles and what may or may not happen in the future, especially at this age.

My kid's club beats that: ECNL I, ECNL II, and Pre-ECNL. For U12.

The full title of the second teams for U11 and U12 are VSA are teams are Pre-ECNL RL 2. Emphasis on pre-ECNL RL. The top teams for both age groups are Pre-ECNL RL 1 VDA West. The top teams practice once per week with the other VDA partner clubs. As other commenters said, the second team isn't a feeder for ECNL, and frankly, only maybe the top 1/3-1/2 of the top team are legitimate contenders for consideration for VDA when they get to U13. I would ignore the titles at U11 and just focus on getting quality training and touches and playing time. Go to page 25 of the ppt for the 2023-24 season for info: https://prod-assets.demosphere-secure.com/_deimos/_public_files/017vup4yzkkr9/travel/VSA%20U9-U12%20Zone%201%2023-24.pdf?CacheKey=1682026086

Soccer is a game where kids develop at different time. The best U9 may quit before U13, and a U13 B team kid may be a star on an ECNL team at U17. Find a good coach and a team your child likes and practice away from regular training too if this is a dream the player is chasing. I would not pay attention to the label on the team but rather the coach, the ‘fit’, and the competition that different teams offer. Of course it’s hard to know about coaches for next year now, but once people release their staff for next year look up schedules and watch some games played between different clubs. That’s a good way to narrow down the many options. Then maybe join a team you like for a session or two before tryouts and get feedback from the coach, your child, and the parents on the sidelines.

Pre-ecnl 2 is the biggest scam name of a team ever. You’re the B team get over it!

Was told that this is a feeder to the ECNL, but they said this team would play NCSL. I'm a bit confused. Sounds like a money grab.

Guess I answered my own question but anybody else have any experiences? Really feel like I want to just keep my kid on rec at U11

It's just a nicer name for the B team. Nothing more and nothing less. At this age there is lots of room and time for development and growth. Worry more about the quality of the coach at this stage than the label of the team.
