We live in petworth!
Both attorneys with kids at the local public. We're in our 30s and 40s. We love it here. I've been here since my 20s, so I've lived in Petworth for 15 years in all life stages.

They've been saying this about Petworth for 20 years now. They'll probably be saying it about Petworth 20 years from now. It keeps bumping its head on the ceiling created by the crime and the schools.

“Cleveland Park” as it’s generally understood is not actually about the strip and metro station. It’s the SFHs between Conn and Wisc. There are a lot of rental buildings it’s true. Those are now full of poor voucher recipients who get placed there by the government and don’t induce a bar scene or restaurant scene

Where do you live and how much actual experience do you have with Petworth? From the sound of your post you’ve never lived there.

I think relatively few single people in their 20s who are not DC natives live in Petworth. It is mostly a place for young couples and families.

+1 Petworth is great for single people in their 20s! Once you have kids, the school and crime situation make Petworth not as appealing.

Every thread on DCUM is about how the schools in certain neighborhoods aren’t white enough or rich enough for their family. It’s very tiresome and says a lot about the readership.

This isn’t a thread about the schools in Petworth. It’s a thread about a walk in the neighborhood and how interesting it looked.
