Omg stop asking multiple times on every thread that’s ever discussed Madeira. Once AGAIN:

There’s no timeline on waitlists. The most likely outcome is she doesn’t come off it. If they do call to offer a spot, it could happen anytime. Most common times are right around when decisions/deposits are due from accepted families, right around when tuition becomes binding (typically June 1; I’m not sure if that’s different for boarding), and during the summer.

My daughter went to Madeira and graduated in 2022, Amazing school. Shy girl admitted from WES middle school. Madeira brought out confidence and brilliance out of her. Great teachers. The kids bond tightly regardless of race or background. Incredible school. Daughter currently shinning in Harvard. Turned down admissions to MIT, Stanford, Yale, Berkley, UPenn. Anecdotally speaking - of the 40 boarders in a class of 80 there are 15 international boarders, 10-15 local boarders and the rest are from out of state.

It’s at the top of my daughter’s list to apply for fall 2025 so we are just starting to research.


When my daughter applied a few years ago, you had to choose. I believe a day student can shift to boarding in a subsequent year (and, probably, vice versa for local boarders).
