The kid's menu fish & chips at a local restaurant is the perfect size and it's one-third the price of the regular menu fish & chips. But I feel a bit skittish ordering 4x kids meals, which are for two adults and two kids. This is an online order, to-go. We aren't total misers, we would tip $5, if it makes any difference.

The most unintentionally hilarious think I will read today.

This sort of trolling is so strange. My daughter is a hostess and bags to-go orders. If everyone tipped $5 on a to-go order she'd make hundreds of dollars a night in tips on top of $15 an hour.

Sometimes the menu says that a kid is defined as age 12 and under.

I agree with ordered two adult meals. You’ll probably get better quality food too.

Not always, but a lot of times the kids meal fish, or nuggets or whatever are just frozen crap they stick in the deep fryer, while the adult tenders or fried fish is fresh meat/fish they hand-batter there. Also noticed the kids meals sometimes get the sub par pieces: half pieces, broken bits, mostly fried batter/less meat.

It’s to go. They aren’t getting service

How is ordering food scamming a business?

Some of you people need to lay off the caffeine.

Some restaurants require an adult meal purchased along with kids meals. My husband and I split the adult fish and chips.

There's no reason to give you the "with child" discount if there is no 'with". But feel free to sneak it through because the owner might not notice, I guess.

Really? What about a dad with three kids ordering? Can't happen?
Also, I order food for the kids when I'm not eating. Can't happen?
This thread is weird. It's takeout food.

I definitely wouldn’t do it to dine in, but for takeaway it is fine. I’d probably tip more, but that’s just me.

I thought $5 on $36 (4x kids meals) was a decent tip?

I order kids' meals a lot because of dietary issues and I always tip as though I had ordered an adult-sized entree. That said, I generally don't tip 20% on takeout orders, usually more like 10%, but that's a whole nother conversation.

Do you ever get pushback? I've been tempted to do that when portions are so big.

Order two adult portions and split them among the four of you.
