I have no idea. I am a contractor so I don’t think so. I have never been in this situation.
All but the smallest companies have to offer COBRA coverage. Ask HR today about COBRA. That lets you keep existing health insurance, although you have to pay both employee and employer portions of the cost. It is mandated by law for situations like yours.
