what school? ive heard from a friend of the former where it's a clear yes or no(t this year) and no WL

I agree with PP at 847. Some schools, including at least one “Big 3” only call a week early if the sib is getting a rejection or being waitlisted. Some schools really don’t want connected families to feel that the school is slighting them or have connected families find out thirdhand that their siblings didn’t get the special early acceptance call.

I think the opposite—many schools only let you know early if a sibling is being rejected.

Our early notice was an acceptance. 1 week prior we received a call to discuss "maturity". I provided context and then the following week we received our admission.

Sorry OP. I would have expected you would hear something, anything by now if you were to get acceptance.

I was a PP. early notice was a rejection.
They advised to apply again next year.
