New drivers have to have a green leaf for two years in the old country. I don't remember if there was also a speed limit, possibly 70 km/h max.
We don't have big roads and crazy rush hours like here.

We have the magnets and put them on only when my teen who has their permit is driving. They are a great learning tool. They are learning to ignore distractions (honking, etc.) and focus on their driving AND that many other drivers are jackazzes who might not be able to read.

Ours is a sticker, not a magnet, so it’s not easy to take iff when the kiddo isn’t driving.

I also think kids are taking longer to learn how to drive, so the stickers stay on longer.

I think it’s a great idea. If I see a young person with a new driver sticker, I find myself giving them more grace and being extra patient.

People live in such a little unhappy world that they are honking at 15 year olds as they learn to drive. WTF is wrong with people.

We put the magnet on when my teen drive with a permit is driving and take it off when she’s done driving. I don’t know why people leave it on their cars all the time even when the student driver isn’t driving. That defeats the purpose.

How do you suggest someone learn to drive without ever being a new driver

You people are soooo rude, cut other humans some slack. There are adults learning to drive too. Does it make you feel like a badass when you speed by them and flip them the bird!

There are kids who are nervous on the road. You were not always this awesome driver. You were young once.

I don’t understand why people are so mean. You will not get there that much faster. It’s not their fault you left late.

I just got one because my kid has his permit and is learning to drive. I consider it a warning for others on the road to go around us if they can or turn so they aren’t behind us because honking isn’t going to make my kid a better driver at this point. So strange that it bothers you.
