Go to Dolomites (heard great things, never been) but fly in/out of Venice and enjoy generous time in Venice for the cultural attractions.

Your kids might like to learn to row through "Venice on Board". That was our favorite part.

We stayed in an indie 3rd floor hotel called Palazzo Bembo right at the Rialto bridge.

With London, you might pair with Edinburgh instead of Dublin. We really enjoyed our first trip to Edinburgh and want to go back.

The reason not to go to London this time is that it's much easier to go to any time and isn't dependent on good weather.

I’m not much help. I would choose any of them except for London, which doesn’t have much appeal to me. Nothing against the UK, but much prefer Edinburgh to London.

I have been to Italy, but not Dolomites, but I’m pretty sure I would love it. I’ve been to Alaska and it’s one of my favorite places. Where in Alaska do you want to go? I’ve never heard anybody having a bad time on an Alaska cruise, but I highly recommend flying there and exploring at your own pace.

Dolomites unless one of the teens is really fussy about hikes, then go to Hawaii.

I get it op, our summer trip was also a toss up between 4 diverse locations.

Thanks for all the input! To the pps who are wondering why such a varied list, we tend to alternate between city/museum/sightseeing kinds of trips and outdoorsy/active trips. So we went to Spain for instance and then Costa Rica. We went to Italy and then Iceland. I will cross Alaska off because it’s too late it sounds like.

We have about 9 days. So could do London and around or all around Ireland. Or could do the Dolomite trip. I guess I’m leaning towards that one. Just hard to pull the trigger.

Also meant to add for Uk—if you are an outdoorsy family maybe combine London with wales or something like that. Amazing hiking there.

I would cross of Alaska if you are looking at 2024. Things book up really early there.

If you ae staying less than 10 days, I’d cross of Hawaii due to time change and distance, but otherwise Hawaii is great. Really something for everyone there. Especially if they like snorkeling, scuba, etc. great hiking, kayaking, interesting history.

London seems very different to me in that it’s not outdoorsy like the other choices. If your family prefers more history/culture than hiking/swimming, I’d pick London. Dublin is frankly not that great. You can spend a couple days there but the best of Ireland is in the country side. If you have 2 weeks I can see doing something like 4 days in London, 2 days in Dublin, then 1 week driving around Ireland. Northern Ireland is gorgeous and Belfast has some interesting stuff. The western coast is beautiful and there’s some cool inland stuff like castel, Kilkenny, new grange, knowth, etc. this would be the best combination of culture/hisyory/outdoors probably but would also involve a lot of schlep and crowding into a car which 3 full grown kids might not be thrilled with.

I would pick either UK or Ireland but not both (at least assuming you have 10 days or less and aren’t visiting Dublin on a cheapnstopover fare)

I would cross Hawaii off bcs of time zone/travel time.
