Well idiots in Loudoun have been lighting up NextDoor all afternoon/evening about “earthquakes”. Ma’am that’s called thunder. The lightening was the hint.

I'm in Loudoun and the thunder and lightning was raging all around my home. The thunder wasn't your run of the mill thunder. These suckers roared and roared and made you think there might be a tornado out there somewhere. We also had hail. One thunderbolt hit so close and loud our house shuddered hard. Shortly afterwards we heard sirens go screaming down the road.

Yea, I live in Loudoun too. It very clearly wasn’t an earthquake.

Has no one ever witnessed lightning and thunder before?

Lightning. Ma’am.

A nuclear airburst would appear as a bright flash in the sky.

I was driving in Potomac and happened to have coverage about the unmanned moon landing on and saw this huge flash light up the sky, which was freaky, but quickly logic took over and realized it was likely lightening given the weather.

Lightning. Ma’am.

Sorry Officer, but this isn’t a spelling bee.
