I actually had an electrician add outlets in several closets when we moved in. Money well spent imo. Or I don’t care, stupidly spent maybe but I love it. The vacuums, the printer, clothes steamer etc.

My wife had a Miele that she loved when we got married (22 years ago). It was a good machine. The one problem and a major one is that it was hard to get serviced. We finally found one local appliance repair shop in our town that serviced Miele. We took it there. They didn't keep parts for Miele in stock because it was low enough volume that it wasn't cost effective to keep parts for. He ordered the parts. 3 weeks to be delivered. All told, we were out of the vacuum for a month.

Now, we have two inexpensive Shark vacuums. One upstairs and one downstairs so we don't have to carry them up and down the stairs. They were $130, but we got them for $100 on sale. They work great and if they break (we're going on 2 years with them in great working order), then it's not too expensive to buy a replacement.

Miele canister with the turbo power head. I have medium like wool rugs and hardwood, and it does both very well.

I got a cordless Dyson stick and I'm never going back to a corded vac.

My MIL has a cordless Samsung and she's happy.

But neither of us have wall-to-wall. Just rugs on hardwood or tile.

10/10 recommend a vacuum on each floor! I keep a central vac tool kit on my main and upper floors and then an older Miele in my basement. It's so nice to not drag hoses/machines up and down the stairs.

OP here. I hate dragging my vacuum up from the basement, especially up to the second floor. In fact dread of doing so means I don't vacuum as often as I should. But I don't have room to store a vacuum on every floor.

I have a cordless stick vac on every floor and it's really helpful to be able to do a quick pass in any room in less than five minutes.

Do whatever makes you happy.

We have an excellent Dyson canister (no longer made) which has worked well for 2 decades now and an older Dyson stick, which also works well.

Depends what your looking for.

I have a multilevel house and now use a combination of three: basic robot vac, coorded vac for bigger messes and cordless vac for upstairs and stairs, ect.

I'm so so on the corded and cordless vacs I have now, but the robot vac, eufy, has been great and good value for the price.
