Going to Portland and Seattle this summer.

Are the homeless people in San Francisco more aggressive than the Portland/Seattle homeless people? That was my anecdotal observation the last time I was in SF, which was many years ago.

What part of town was the poop situation in?
Also was that during broad daylight or at night?

All.of that is over amplified by the media, especially Fox News. Yes there are problems, but if you stay away from the major problem areas (mostly just the Tenderloin ) it is totally fine, as long as you can handle seeing a few homeless people.

And the Tenderloin has always been like that. I avoided it years ago when I lived there.

Exactly.

Everything you read about California is exaggerated except the high home prices.
There are much worse places.

I spent a week there in August for work, and did a ton of sightseeing and walking around. It was beautiful and I was also shocked, from hearing how awful it was.

I encountered no scary homeless people or felt unsafe at any point. I did take Ubers in the evening but as a single woman that is what I do whenever I travel at night in unfamiliar places. Coworkers who live there said they feel fine taking transit in the evening.

I don't get why you'd choose to spend a couple days in SF when you could choose to spend them in Monterey or Carmel. Or Capitola. Or Napa. Or literally any of these places that are like 1 hour from SF.

My question exactly. You lost me at “body slam poop pile”[/quote]

+1. Lost me at "distopian" misspelled

Most beautiful city in America until progressive policies ruined it.

I think many are missing the tongue being in cheek, as if, hey it was just human feces all over everybody—no big deal, that happens everywhere, doesn’t it?

You apparently misread op’s post.

No. I think you did.

That said, we are prepared to handle a range of 0-1 human poop experiences. Beyond that, no thank you. Happy to hear that it’s possible to have only one.
