Did you not meet with a lactation consultant? They would have spotted this immediately.

You are literally wasting your time not going to a plastic surgeon. Why ask your doctor about something they may have seen once or twice instead of asking a doctor who does this for a living? Your pediatrician is going to just tell you they may even out. Your daughter will be better served with a plastic surgeon.
As someone who has lived this, PLEASE just take your daughter to a plastic surgeon to understand a)what the issues are (or are not) and b)what the options are.
Do not listen to the posters saying it’s not a birth defect. They don’t know. A plastic surgeon will. Just make the appointment. Georgetown is a good place to start.

You need to wait until they’re finished growing and then address it. Unevenness is common, often takes care of itself.

Bumping this thread--dealing with this now with DD who is partially through puberty but not all the way there and has moderate scoliosis.
Is a visit to an endocrinologist recommended as well? Wondering which specialist to start with as she's very unhappy and pediatrician has cautioned that it might even out. However, I see a big difference and my gut tells me they won't.

It’s not related to a birth defect.
Not a small number of plastic surgeons will refer to unusual features as “defects” as this can influence the urgency at which the patient seeks surgery, and makes the surgery seem more reconstructive rather than purely cosmetic. I don’t know if the insurance company cares though.

I grew up like this and I was very self conscious about it. I am now in my 50s and going through breast cancer treatment including a recent double mastectomy. Turns out I also have an angled sturnum which also contributed to the uneveness. The only silver lining is that now through reconstruction I will have even breasts.

You don’t need to mention someone else’s birth defect at your daughter’s appointment. Focus on your own daughter and they will diagnose her or recommend what to do, which most likely will be nothing until 18.

Oh, I didn't realize your other thread was deleted. I was the 1st reply in your other thread. It happens to some females. I had 2 friends who had a full cup size larger than the other one. One just accepted it, and the other had breast augmentation as an adult.

Because my first post title was offensive to many who are not comfortable with naming appropriate anatomical body parts with the teen’s age (13) and it was deleted, which is shocking to me considering what else is allowed to be posted on this forum without condemnation. I changed the title to one of the suggestions of an offended previous poster in the deleted thread and wanted to give that person credit, so I put it in quotes.

Most plastic surgeons won’t touch teens until they are 18. Especially for breast development. Even noses they recommend waiting until then, though some parents push for 16th birthday.
