Agree. Especially at home games.

Triple agree. DH was a coach. One family rarely showed up. One time he told me the kid did something great in a game and he was trying to describe it to the mom at pick-up, and mom just did not care.

One of us goes to every game EXCEPT in the rare event that a sibling with fewer activities or less spectator-friendly activities has a big event, in which case we will both go to that because there are so many more opportunities to watch the more run-of-the-mill games.

I remember seeing the Dad of one of DS' soccer teammates sitting in his truck watching TV on his phone during a game.

It was honestly one of the saddest things I've ever seen

This. We have two kids. We both go to everything except when there is overlap between the two (which is somewhat frequent). At least one of us is always at ever single game.

Yes.

I didn’t find it stressful until college recruiting time. But watching the interactions with teammates etc really reminds me why he works so hard. I really enjoy watching him play and it’ll be over too quickly!

Just home games? I'm at home and away games, I take notes on my phone to review for after the games.

Yes, we both do. But we have one child so it's easier to make games than if we had three kids all over the city.

Kid isn't terribly affected by Ws and Ls. I've seen them elated at their play in an L game, or bummed that they didn't feel they played well for a W. Which, if contained and mostly accurate, seems healthy to me.

I enjoy them. The weather is usually good in season.

We also attend club games.

Spouse and I went to every game, performance, recital, tournament of our kids (sometimes we had to divide and conquer, but they always had at least one parent in attendance. Please get some therapy and/or meds for your anxiety

We try to have a family representative at most games. But if we ever have to miss an occasional one it’s not a huge deal since someone is at most.

I don’t have an anxiety issue with attending.

I go to as many as I possibly can. With our 11 and 14 year old both playing travel sports and our 7 year old playing rec sports and participating in a bunch of activities, DH and I need to do a lot of dividing and conquering.

I go to every game (home and away) that I can.

I love watching my children do something that they love.

Which is why I go every one of DD's basketball games, and every one of DS' theater shows, and everyone of their band concerts, etc.

It's not about the outcome (wins or losses for games, flubbed lines vs getting a laugh in the theater production), its about supporting their interests and finding joy in watching them do what they love
