There is a camp at Georgetown that is a convenient location and time for us. I don’t think he is going to be interested in Gtown as a school, but I am wondering if it makes sense to try that one as a way of getting a sense of what they are like. Or should we plan our summer around getting to a college he is more likely to be interested in.
If you are testing the water, go to a college or university that he's interested in. But always send the coaching staff an email with your highlight video before you go.

Don't waste your time or money. If anything, do the ones at the school he's interested in, not those multi school ID camps.
When he's older, there will be lots of scouts watching if you play MLS Next. They'll be at showcases, MLS Next events, some even come and watch season games. Or, send the coach highlight vids and invite him to come watch a game.
