Honors programs are very different school to school, & I’ve never seen one that looked like it was worth all the BS involved. Plus, they seem to attract the Tracy Flick-style go-getters that can make your life miserable.

No, there are significant differences among them.


This - they are not all created equal. OP if you want help then it's best to disclose the school information. Some may criticize but there are plenty of others here who provide lots of helpful insight.


I toured both and these particular honors programs are directly comparable in terms of offerings.

Both ABET accredited which is most important for an engineering major.

And obviously UMD is abet accredited as well but spring admit is not an engineering admit.

It depends on your finances. For an average muddle class family, its not worth it.
