I'm a coach. I would say that the very top GA teams are equivalent with ecnl. The middle level GA teams are equivalent with let's say the top four teams in any ecnl regional league. The lower level GA teams are equivalent with mid-level ecnl regional teams.

Maybe in certain area's or in a larger picture where RL teams are more competitive but around here aside from a few teams the RL program is just a more glorified NCSL league. If you look at the ENCL RL team members, it looks a lot like the NCSL membership list. I agree with this statement above. I feel that the club will move from having a Red and White team, to having an ECNL RL, Red and White Team. But the ECNL RL Team will still be playing all the same clubs that they previously played in NCSL. But throw in access to ECNL RL Tournaments.

Secondly, LMVSC would likely go through some growth challenges. They are tight on quality field space and coaches are spread thin. It's possible, they would create a 3rd new team for each division, particularly if kids stay and or they attract more kids from other local clubs, like GUNSTON.

Yes some of the same clubs but not the same teams since the RL teams wouldn't be in NCSL or the National League. Maybe a few Gunston, maybe a few ASA. I don't know about a third team. Maybe just add a few players to already existing teams. Don't see that large of a jump unless I'm underestimating the impact of being in ECNL RL. If coaches are stretched thin it doesn't make sense to add third teams where they don't have them.

The best girls at Gunston traditionally jump to SYC not LMVSC.

That's not true for the former Gunston girls I'm familiar with. They went to LMVSC.

The facts and data indicates otherwise, but I do appreciate and value your feelings.

Feel free to post facts and data.

We can pretend that the same clubs haven't been playing each other forever. They're all about the same even if one it's a shiny new badge.

There are some strong boys teams in RL around here but I find that the strong ones are groups of boys that have stuck together at their club and continue to build and play together. Much of the same, no consistency thinking that the RL is strong as a whole around here but you'll find a team here or there in different age groups that are quality.

RL around here is not the same as GA around here. RL in VA does not limit substitutions, RL in other areas do enforce it but it varies. Sub rules do have an effect on how teams play and build their teams.

Maybe some of the Alexandria girls that won’t get picked up by GA may be interested in ecnl RL and may make the move to lmvsc. Who knows where everything will fall. This year there has been the most changes at once in the Nova landscape than ever before.

GA is the top of its pyramid and can pretend to be the best girls league. College placement out of FCV gives that claim some credence. RL is below ECNL and no one can pretend otherwise. There is no college placement from RL teams that remotely approaches GA. It's a league for girls who like soccer and can't make ECNL teams or for girls who are at the back of the bench on ECNL teams and get dual rostered to get playing time
