I hate people who cancel the day off
Really??? I would rather a friend take care of themselves however then felt they needed to than be a body at my gathering. I’m in the stage where everyone has little kids so I assume anyone can bail at any time due to a number of factors.

A friend of mine had 13 last minute cancellations to her Christmas party leaving her with an ocean of extra catered food. It’s just rude and selfish to not show at the last minute.

Good hosts know that a couple people will always have something come up the day of.
