I agree! We have it on our island and I don’t love it. Shows a ton of dirt and crime. I would do a more muted medium
or green. It also looks a bit dated at this point. We have had it for 10 years.

Cabinets are exposed to grease, either from cooking or from fingerprints. Grease attracts dust. Dust is more visible on dark surfaces than on light. Imagine a black t shirt covered in lint vs a white one. If there is oblique sunlight, it will magnify the issue. Make sure you avoid matte finishes and be prepared to wipe down cabinets more often than if they were lighter in color.

This. We have dark cherry cabinets (perfectly functional, so I can't justify replacing) and I swear they always look dirtier than the white cabinets in our former house.

Our pantry is hale navy with walnut counters. It’s a rich navy but not at all black. It’s not as royal as the last photos but also doesn’t have the teal or black undertones like the first photos. It looks great with the walnut.

That said, light, flooring, wall color - everything is going to play a little role. I've seen Hale Navy cabinets next to a wall of windows looking out on trees and another looking out on the open-air / ocean, and they read differently.

It's a very nice color that I think will stand the test of time / trend.

I actually am really hoping it hopes like the last 2 you posted!! I was hoping for a rich navy blue but not a blackish , too dark color. It’s too dark imo. It’s a very dark navy.

I have a small bathroom with Hale Navy on beadboard paneling and it is a true navy — looks like the second link.

I have hale navy and it looks exactly like your first photo of what you like. We have walnut counters w/ it and a darker wallpaper - not sure if that's what helps (vs the counters in some of the photos you don't like?). I like it and have been happy. I went back and forth b/t that and a pale color but am glad I went w/ the navy.

Figuring out the lighting is tough! But enough people have responded that I’m feeling very confident about finally making the decision. Will stop obsessively browsing images of Hale navy now.

OP, we have the hale navy cabinets. Love them. We’ve had them for the last 3 years and they look great during the day when the sun hits them, and at night. We get compliments all the time on them.

I think it really will depend on your lighting, though.

I don't know how large your samples are but when we picked wall colors we painted masonite panels with 2 coats of paint and propped them up against the walls. They were about 2x2 or 3x3. Bought them at Home Depot.

I have Hale Navy in a NW room with a bit of afternoon light. The color looks very much like the first pic.

I have it in a basement with little natural light and it very clearly reads navy blue. I love it.

We have a Hale Navy vanity in the bathroom. It came as an option (we did not have it custom painted beyond the Hale Navy option that was already available). It definitely looks like your top links and is not bright or royal. If anything, it skews darker/slate than true blue. I think it looks great and if you're looking for links like the top, you should be good. The bottom two pics do *not* look like Hale Navy.
