I think it motivates him to be a better person. He still makes some stupid decisions, but overall I think it’s been healthy. He seems more like his old elementary school self when he is with her and I guess it warms my heart. Does that make sense?
But I am so so worried he might be devastated if/when they break-up. He really puts up a front with friends and not her, so I get nervous he won’t have any support. But ahh young love is sweet!!

It’s a huge thing to be coupled up at my kid’s high school.
but that's not good. we are talking about dating not "coupling" (sex)

My 17.5 year old girl/boy twins haven't dated either. It's very different than my experience at their age.
They have many friends, active social lives, spend zero time on screens.
I think my daughter would love to date but she can't' quite find the right guy. The popular and adjacent-to-popular guys only want the super hot girls.
The geeky guys date the geeky girls. My daughter and her friends (who are similar to her) are sort of in no-man's land.
My son just hangs out with guys in a pack. None of them are dating (and to my knowledge they're not dating each other either).

But not much of a ladies man, apparently. He has never mentioned being sad about it, but I know he likes girls and would like to have a girlfriend.
