I am not so sure about the money. I am 5'10" and I was a "broke" musician when I met my wife. She is 5'8", who graduated from Ivy and works for Blackstone, with a trust fund on top of that. She told me that she was attracted to me because she found me to be, in her own words, "captivating", with "gravitas", and I am good-looking. She does not care if I am broke. My wife told me that I am much more interesting than all of her wealthy co-workers and that she won a lifetime lottery when she married me. I am a SAHM and I do nothing but taking our kids to school, go to the gym, pickup kids after school, teach my kids music, groceries shopping, etc... Women still hit me up from time to time at Whole Food. Women with money don't look for guys with money, they look for good-looking dudes who are captivating. YMMV.

dp.. she doesn't care if you're broke because she has her own money and comes from money, so that doesn't really count since the vast majority of women aren't in her position.

Women hit on you because you are good looking. They are looking for fun, not a partner to raise their children.

I never had to think about height as I knew only one man barely shorter than I growing up in the old country. We are definitely in top 10 tallest nationalities.
The height need was never as pressing as the need for money as everything is expensive here.
Now that I have my own money, I can concentrate on finding love. The love of my life is 3 inches shorter than I. Normal height in his country for a man and normal height in my country for a woman.
I met so many losers when I was younger. The height and money were the least of the problems.

I can't answer the money question because no one I know talks or thinks about relationships and money like the people here on dcum. Noone I know married for money or is gold digger.

However, I'm a short woman, 5 foot 3. I only dated, and married, a man well over 6 feet. At this age of my life, with wisdom and hindsight, I can tell you it's because I've always been a little bit heavy/overweight (15-20 pounds). And I never wanted to date a man who weighed less than I did or made me feel fat. That's my truth

Very good points. Most men are boring (me included) and the men with interesting things (such as musical talent) about them will always get ahead of the line.

I am a guy and I can answer the money part. The answer is simple. Women are smart period! A woman will not get involved with a broke guy just because he is “hot”. A man on the other hand the idiot will go ahead and hand his credit card to a “hot” chick to go spend without limits.


My ex was a millionaire attractive and 'only' 5'11. Together 8 yrs. I'm opening up my dating circle to include hot men be it any profession or salary and preferably attractive guys who are younger than me. The jealous ageists don't believe I look young for my age online but medical professionals have told me otherwise who have seen me.

Women - like height & net worth greater than their own.

Men - like height & weight smaller than their own.

There are also features to consider - men like feminine features, women like masculine. Thinning hair & strong noses are ok on men, not women. Weak chins & small features are ok on women, not men.

These are gross generalizations of course, but I think that is what OP is asking about.

Women don’t have it any easier than men. They are both at the mercy of certain characteristics that are out of their control.

It' primal and while it might have diminished over the last few decades, in general many women still want strong men. Tall frequently equates to strong.
