Yes this! Or… use first and last initials. If her baby’s name is Larlo Jones, your family will forever call him LJ “to avoid confusion” 🥳

Just start calling him "Little Larlo." It will drive her nuts.

It is fine. You don’t own the names. On my mom’s side there are 7 of us cousins and only 4 are boys; two of them are Steven.

People can pick whatever name(s) they want to.

Meh, they’re 3 years apart. And unless they’re both super unusual names like Aloysius Evelyn, it’s no big deal. Most boys names are pretty boring.

I wouldn’t be upset at this

Depends how close you are ..if you connect twice a year - whatever. If you see each other regularly it is pretty weird and a bit confusing. I have a daughter with the same name as a neighbor...random we did not know each other at the time. It is always..My Sally Your Sally

I think the weirdest thing is that it’s the same first and middle name. But agree that your only choices are to continue being friends with her or not.

DH’s friend happened to pick the same name we liked for our kid - but theirs was born first (and we never told them we liked that name - it’s a popular name and just a coincidence). Anyway - I didn’t want to not use the name because they did. And they live in another state. So I don’t think it’s weird.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.

The second half of that Oscar Wilde quote is important.

It's weird, but a harmless weird. I'd let it go.

Just accept it as a compliment. When my daughter was a baby a friend told me she thought her name was so pretty that if she ever had a daughter she'd name her the same. She never did have a girl but I wouldn't have been at all bothered.

I would do a slow fade. Honestly she sounds a bit crazy. I’d be worried about her borrowing my husband too.

That she never mentioned this before hand, tells you she knew that you might not be pleased. She didn't care that this might irk you. Any other issues in the friendship?
