Uh no. This has been a drink for years. But par for the course on DCUM to discover a thing that has existed for years and they think it’s new.

It’s a mineral water. Not carbonated water like LaCroix etc.

Topo is bottled in Mexico? Perrier and S Pelle are Euro.

Easier to find the small glass bottles of Topo as well.

My husband loves ranch water. He orders it all the time. No one ever knows what it is. I tell him to just order vodka soda with lime like a normal person but he insists on ordering ranch water and then having to explain it.

This is my first time hearing about "ranch water" but I've been making Spindrift vodkas for a while now and that seems like a better, cheaper version of Ranch Water.

I tried ordering one at a popular Texmex restaurant in an upscale suburb and they had zero idea what I was talking about.

Same, until I saw it in the New York Times.

Article:
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/27/dining/drinks/regional-cocktails-lunchbox-brandy-old-fashioned.html

Recipe:
Ingredients
Yield:1 serving
2 ounces blanco tequila
1 ounce fresh lime juice, plus a lime wedge for serving
Carbonated mineral water, such as Topo Chico, as needed

Preparation
Step 1: Fill a highball glass with ice. Add the tequila and the lime juice, then top it off with Topo Chico. Gently stir to mix. Serve with a lime wedge. Keep topping off with Topo Chico to dilute to your liking and extend the life of the drink.
