I think Potomac is closer to McLean if you are evaluating apples-to-apples, while Arlington is closer to Bethesda.
Ummm, Tysons? You can pick out any random restaurant in Tysons and it pretty much dominates Bethesda. Ingle Korean steakhouse, Wren, Eddie V. Hell even North Italia is better than anything in Bethesda, which has been going downhill for about 15 years. Remember when Black's used to be good? I do. But barely
LOL at comparing Tysons to Bethesda. Is that a joke?
Tysons is an office hellscape with zero downtown (excuse me, "The Boro"). Eddie V's..really?

Moving to a specific location, unless it is a bunker in a remote area, is silly.

Crime is getting worse, and it's getting worse in Bethesda. But relatively speaking, it's much worse in Silver Spring, some other parts of east County, and Montgomery Village and Germantown.
Politics here are very self serving and the quality of all sorts of services are declining as a result. However, I don't know how that compares to McLean or other parts of VA. Maybe they are experiencing the same thing

I am disappointed that DC crime is seeping into the Bethesda enclave, however. There are multiple complexities to cracking down on crime. DC has just released a new crime bill, and hopefully things will slowly improve. I imagine McLean is safer, though? But not the same vibe, so it depends what you want. The Bethesda suburbs are safe as well.
Don’t blame this on DC PP. this is Bethesda crime.
