My primary doctor ordered it without even telling me when i had a swollen lymph node. It was very strange of her to put in the order but not tell me.

It's only "very routine" to get HIV tests for international travel or accidental needle pricks if you have a particular kind of job, and if that were the case OP wouldn't be looking for explanations. She'd think "oh yes my infectious disease researcher husband has to do this all the time!" It's either for an obvious reason or a very unexpected one - in the first instance OP wouldn't ask and in the second her DH would have said something.

A non cheating response: I needed a full blood work up because I needed a crazy medication to treat a skin problem.

Ten vials of blood including HIV test and TB test.

There’s probably an innocent explanation but lay low and monitor for a few weeks before asking.

Did he have a physical recently? I had one a few years ago because my dr asked if I wanted to full work up. I said why not. I'm happily married and had no concern about cheating. But I just agreed to everything since they were already drawing blood.
