Nope, not back in the 70's.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I use mine all the time. Luckily, my car has a feature where they automatically come on and off depending on the amount of ambient light and other cars. It’s genius. All cars should have this.
I've never heard of high beams being automatic before.
My headlights can come on automatically if I set them to, but my high beams are manual.
Back in the 70s (?) I think there were cars that would automatically turn off your high beams when they sensed oncoming headlights. I don't think the feature worked well and I haven't heard of it in a long time.
If I'm much outside the beltway, then I'm probably on a busy interstate. It has been a long time since I turned on my high beams.

Don’t care how many people it pisses off. You don’t know me and we’ll never meet so I don’t care.

Good to spot animals that may dart across roadway.
Anonymous wrote:Mine are automatic. They actually work really well at detecting oncoming cars and turning off. But my guess is some cars may not have high beams that are as responsive. I also do think some of the newer headlights are just really bright and blinding.

Anonymous wrote:Never but mine are super bright and people like you think they are high beams. Newer car, came with them.
