Going to college is about the effort she puts into the process. Reaching out to coaches and getting her highlights video out there. Go to ID camps. Is it a money grab? Yes and no. For most of the girls at ID camps, they're not treating it as a tryout. For the ones who do stand out, the coaches are looking for talent. There are the diamonds in the rough who show up at college ID camp who don't play [insert letter league here] and impress coaches.
But the most important thing. Don't force your daughter to treat this as a job. It's recreation which could help with college. Or it may not. She's only going to be 14 or 15 this year and she won't get it back. Enjoy her team, enjoy going to practice, enjoy playing games. Don't hate doing this for the possibility "to play in college".
Such great advice, that so few will listen to. Let your DD pick the team she likes.
