Top Golf maybe for boys?
It can't be too many people but Escape the Bomb DC and the indoor parachuting place in Centreville are really neat.
I find sleepover and skincare night for girls ages 11-14 work. I find Dave and Busters work for boys 11-14.
Another thing I've done is just a dinner out with maybe manicures for a few girls prior. Some activity + dinner = all good. Can be shopping at the mall for 60 min before dinner. Then you all leave the mall, done!
But none of these are big groups - both my kids invite their group of friends so 3-5 tops. Indoor skating - roller/ice for girls is another suggestion for the ages 11-14 set.
That becomes the hardest part.
I understand why the kids want to do more mature things, but that really means you have to limit how many people can be invited.
